Psalm 121:1-8
I lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the
Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will
not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at
your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from
all harm-
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your
coming and going
both now and for ever more.

Listen my sons, to a father's instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.
I give you sound learning,
so do not forsake my teaching.
When I was a boy in my father's
house,
still tender, and an only child of
my mother,
he taught me and said,
''Lay hold of my words with all
your heart;
keep my commands and you will
live.
Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forsake wisdom, and she
will protect you;
love her, and she will watch over
you.

Psalm119:33- 40 Proverb 2:1-5
Teach me, O Lord,to follow your
decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will
keep your law and obey it with all
my heart.
Direct me to the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Turn my heart towards your statutes
and not towards selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word.
Fulfil your promise to your servant,
so that you may be feared.
Take away the disgrace I dread,
for your laws are good.
How I long for your precepts!
Preserve my life in your righteousness.
My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands
within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to
understand,
and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden
treasure,
then you will understand the
fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.

Psalm 64:9-10 and Proverb 5:1- 4
All mankind will fear;
they will proclaim the works
of God
and ponder what he has done.
Let the righteous rejoice in the
Lord
and take refuge in him;
let all the upright in heart
praise him.
My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
listen well to my words of insight,
that you may maintain discretion
and your lips may preserve knowledge.
For the lips of an adultress drip with
honey,
and her speech is smoother than oil;
but in the end she is bitter as gall,
sharp as a double-edged sword.
they will proclaim the works
of God
and ponder what he has done.
Let the righteous rejoice in the
Lord
and take refuge in him;
let all the upright in heart
praise him.
My son, pay attention to my wisdom,

but in the end she is bitter as gall,

Proverbs12:1 and Psalm 18:1-2
Whoever loves discipline
loves knowledge,
but he who hates correction
is stupid.
I love you, O Lord my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
